We built LifeLog to help you understand your own life — not to profit from your data. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we never will. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
1. Who we are
LifeLog is an independent application. For privacy questions contact us at life_track@protonmail.com.
2. What information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information — your email address, username, and display name when you create an account.
- Log entries — the text you enter into LifeLog, including any personal information within those entries (fitness data, spending, meals, notes).
- Tracker configuration — the types of trackers you set up and their settings.
- Payment information — payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card details — only a customer ID and subscription status.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — basic information about how you use the app, used solely to improve the product.
- Device information — device type, OS version, and app version to help diagnose bugs.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not track your location unless you explicitly log a location entry.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
- We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and improve LifeLog.
- To process your log entries through AI to classify and organise them (via OpenAI's API — see Section 5).
- To send important account emails (e.g. password resets). We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.
- To manage your subscription and process payments via Stripe.
- To respond to your support requests.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. All connections use HTTPS/TLS. Data is stored on servers in the European Union.
5. Third-party services
- Supabase — database and authentication. Privacy Policy →
- OpenAI — AI processing of log entries. Entry text is sent to OpenAI's API when you use the AI feature. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. Privacy Policy →
- Stripe — payment processing. All card data is handled directly by Stripe. Privacy Policy →
- Vercel — web hosting. Privacy Policy →

- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Deletion — delete your account at any time from within the app. All data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Portability — Premium users can export data as CSV from within the app.
- Correction — update your account information at any time in profile settings.

7. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. On account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where required for legal or financial compliance.
8. Children's privacy
LifeLog is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact us if you believe this has occurred and we will delete it promptly.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The "last updated" date will always reflect the current version.
